Maintenance-free CO2 sensing element (depending on type) based on optical infrared absorption measurement (NDIR = Non dispersive infrared). In ventilation and air conditioning plants to enhance room comfort and optimize energy consumption by providing demand-controlled ventilation. Recalibration is not required with this sensor.

The sensor can be used for the following applications:

  • Control sensor
  • Transmitter for building automation and control systems and / or display units

The sensor measures:

  • CO2 concentration: indication of a full room or area where smoking is prohibited
  • VOC concentration: indication of odors, eg. tobacco smoke, body odor, or material vapors
  • Relative humidity in the room
  • Room temperature

Typical applications:

  • Measurement of CO2 and VOC concentration: In party rooms, lounges, fair pavilions and exhibition halls, restaurants, canteens, shopping malls, athletic centers, sales rooms, and conference rooms.
  • Measurement of CO2 concentration: In rooms with varying occupancy levels where smoking is prohibited, e.g. museums, theaters, movie theaters, auditoriums, office spaces, and school rooms.

QPA20… sensors may not be deployed as safety devices, e.g. as gas or smoke warning devices!
