The Danfoss NovoCon S digital actuator is characterized by high precision and reliability. It is designed for controlling Danfoss AB-QM balancing valves with connection sizes DN 10-32. Their combination is used for regulating the supply of heating/cooling water for FCU units, cooling beams, induction units, small heaters, AHU unit coolers, and other heating/cooling terminal units.

Thanks to its LED indication, which uses three-colour diodes to indicate the actuator's status and operational errors, the actuator can also be used as a flow indicator. The actuator can be remotely controlled via BACnet MS/TP or Modbus RTU remote communication, but it can also be connected analogically. The actuator settings are configured using an industrial bus or an analog input.

Suitable applications include especially four-pipe systems with connected radiant ceiling panels and four-pipe systems with connected FCU units with a single heat exchanger. For four-pipe systems, it is ideal to combine the AB-QM valve and the NovoCon S actuator with a 6-way changeover valve equipped with a NovoCon ChangeOver actuator. The NovoCon S then controls not only the AB-QM valve but also the NovoCon ChangeOver actuator, which switches the system function between cooling and heating.
