The rubber expansion joint is used to dampen vibrations and absorb noise transmitted through the pipework as a result of liquid pumping. It protects the pipework against excessive extension, compression, lateral deflection and angular movement caused by thermal changes in the pipework or the surrounding environment. The flexible element provides increased resistance to water hammer.
