The Evikon E2630-LEL is a detector designed for monitoring hydrogen (H2) concentration in the air. The device uses a semiconductor sensor that provides accurate measurements within the lower explosive limit (LEL) range. With its robust construction and reliable performance, it is suitable for industrial and commercial applications where monitoring methane safety limits is necessary.

The device is housed in a wall-mounted enclosure with an IP65 protection rating, ensuring its resistance to dust and water. Additionally, it features visual and acoustic alarms for timely warnings in case of increased methane/natural gas concentration. The E2630-LEL is equipped with two SPDT relay outputs, allowing easy integration with ventilation and alarm systems.

Common Applications:

The E2630-LEL detector is intended for monitoring hydrogen in industrial and commercial environments such as battery charging rooms, server rooms, gas storage facilities, H2 filling stations, or other areas where flammable gases are handled. The device serves to promptly detect dangerous hydrogen concentrations, helping to ensure equipment safety and minimize the risk of fires or explosions.

Hydrogen:

Hydrogen is the lightest and most abundant element in the universe, characterized by high energy density and clean combustion. When used as fuel, it produces only water, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to fossil fuels. Hydrogen is often used in fuel cells that generate electricity to power vehicles or various devices.

Calibration Protocol

Each package of Evikon gas detectors includes a factory calibration protocol. The calibration protocol is in English. Gas concentration measurements are influenced by operating temperature and humidity. Therefore, calibration during the manufacture of the detector is performed with higher safety in mind.

Key Features:

  • Detected substances: Hydrogen H2
  • Can respond to: Flammable gases - acetylene, methane, benzene, ethanol, ethyl acetate, toluene, xylenes, cleaner vapours, refrigerants, etc.
  • Sensor type: Metal oxide semiconductor sensor with diffusion sampling.
  • Measurement range: 0...100 %LEL with 0.1 %LEL resolution.
  • Two-stage detection
  • Response time: Less than 120 seconds with signal update every second.
  • Alarms: Flashing LED and siren (85 dB).
  • Recommended recalibration interval: 6-12 months
  • Expected sensor lifespan: > 5 years
  • Avoid strong mechanical shocks, vibrations, or electromagnetic interference (EMI). Also avoid exposure to corrosive gases or products containing silicone.

Factory Settings:

  • Calibration gas: Hydrogen H2
  • Measurement range: 0...100 %LEL
  • Alarm settings:
    • ALARM1 = 10 %LEL
    • ALARM2 = 20 %LEL
  • Automatic alarm reset after ventilation (Option to switch to manual mode using a magnet)

Specifications:

  • Power supply: 24 VDC/AC ±20%
  • Consumption: < 2 VA
  • Max. load of SPDT relay outputs: 250 VAC / 30 VDC, 5 A max
  • Operating conditions: -40...+70 °C, <95 % RH, pressure 0.9...1.1 atm
