However, to make perfect use of the ALPHA3 pump, plumbers need two other important elements - the ALPHA Reader sensor module and the Grundfos GO Balance application. This state-of-the-art ALPHA3 system allows plumbers to complete hydronic balancing quickly and accurately.

FUNCTION

AUTOADAPT

Intelligent control mode that always selects the most suitable operating point of the pump depending on the current heat supply needs to the building (weather changes). The AUTOADAPT function ensures unattended operation - the pump operates autonomously and adapts its output to the operating conditions in the system over time.

Proportional pressure control

The pump adjusts the head to the current flow in the system, ie the pump increases as the flow rate increases. Suitable control for systems with fluctuating flow and high differential temperature, especially for a standard two-pipe radiator system.

Constant pressure control

The pump maintains a constant pressure in the system regardless of the flow rate. Suitable control for systems with constant flow and low differential temperature, especially for underfloor heating and single-pipe radiator system.

Constant speed control

The pump works in fixed speed stages I, II, III - the equivalent of old three-speed pumps. Suitable control for constant flow systems, especially for hot water circulation systems.

HYDRONIC BALANCE

With the ALPHA3 pump, the ALPHA Reader sensor module and the Grundfos GO Balance application, the installer performs hydronic balancing easily and quickly without adversely affecting the operation or efficiency of the pump.

You can use hydronic balancing with ALPHA3 and ALPHA Reader for:

ALPHA READER

The ALPHA Reader is a small device that attaches to the front of the ALPHA3 pump. During balancing, it senses an optical signal on the pump and communicates with Grundfos GO Balance via Bluetooth.
Once the hydronic balancing is complete, the ALPHA Reader can be easily removed and used for the next installation.

GRUNDFOS GO BALANCE APPLICATION

You can download Grundfos GO Balance from the App Store or Google Play. The application evaluates the Bluetooth signal from the ALPHA Reader module and guides you through four simple steps of hydronic balancing of the heating system.
