Download PDFGrundfos SQE is a submersible borehole pump designed for pumping thin, clean, non-aggressive and non-explosive liquids without mechanical or fibrous impurities. Its main advantage is the built-in electronic unit with frequency converter, which ensures smooth speed control and soft start. The pump is made of AISI 304 stainless steel suitable for contact with drinking water.
SQE pumps are suitable for continuous operation and can be used in a wide range of applications. They are ideal for domestic water supply, small waterworks, irrigation, filling and emptying tanks, or pressure boosting.

The pumps are protected against dry running. If there is insufficient water in the borehole, the pump is automatically switched off by the CU301 control unit, preventing overheating and damage to the motor windings. This function is for emergency protection only – for low-yield boreholes, the pump must be supplemented with external level monitoring.
The electrohydraulic design ensures high efficiency, resulting in low electricity consumption and low operating costs. The motor is designed as a synchronous permanent magnet motor (PM motor), characterised by high efficiency and reliability across a wide power range – the same type of motor is also used, for example, in electric cars. Reliability is further enhanced by tungsten carbide or engineering ceramic bearings and a thrust bearing, which protects the pump against upward axial thrust. The motor service life is comparable to that of conventional motors.

The external dimensions of the pump are shown in the dimensional drawing. This allows you to easily check that the pump will fit the diameter of your borehole.
The performance curve shows the relationship between the pump head and the flow rate. It will help you verify whether the pump can deliver the required water demand at the depth of your borehole.

The pump can be installed in both vertical and horizontal positions, as well as in all intermediate positions. The standard installation consists of a space-saving 8 l pressure vessel (1), a CU 301 control unit (2), a pressure sensor (3), and the SQE submersible pump itself (4) – the numbering corresponds to the diagram below the text.

Built-in protective and operating functions:
No. SQE pumps are designed only for thin, clean, non-aggressive and non-explosive liquids without mechanical or fibrous impurities. Water containing sand or other solid particles is therefore not suitable for this pump.
The built-in protection is for emergency use only – it protects the motor against overheating and damage to the windings. If your borehole has a low yield, the pump must be supplemented with external level monitoring.
No. The pump can be installed in both vertical and horizontal positions, as well as in all intermediate positions.
