It is important to remember that not every actuator can be fitted to every valve, which is why there is a wide range of adapters. Various designs of actuators also include limit switches, which can be used to verify the position of the actuator. There may be one limit switch, or there may be two – end and start. "Limiters" can be either built-in or additional.

The limit switch does not record a specific position, but its principle is that when the actuator reaches the end position (for example, OPEN), it can activate light signalling or initiate the closing of another actuator. Limit switches thus serve as a simple and quick feedback function for the operator.

In the accessories for actuators, you will also find potentiometers, which provide feedback on the specific position of the actuator. The actuator's own rotation moves the potentiometer slider along the resistive path, causing a change in electrical resistance. This change is then measurable or displayed on an external display.
