GRUNDFOS SCALA1 is a compact self-priming domestic waterworks equipped with an integrated control unit for automatic operation. The pump automatically switches on when the pressure drops and turns off after the flow stops. SCALA1 contains all the components of a domestic waterworks in one solution, and its installation is easy and quick. 

The SCALA1 domestic waterworks is suitable for the following uses:

• pumping water from wells and tanks with a max. depth of 8m
• boosting water pressure from the water supply line

The waterworks is equipped with the following protective functions:

• dry-running protection - if the unit does not detect any pressure or flow during 40 seconds of normal operation, a dry-running alarm is activated, and the pump stops
• anti-cycling function - if there are small leaks in the system, or the tap is not completely closed, the unit periodically switches the pump on and off. To prevent cycling, the unit's anti-cycling function stops the pump and signals an alarm.
• maximum runtime - this function turns off the pump if it runs continuously for the specified time. This time period can be adjusted using the Grundfos GO Remote control.
• calendar function - this function determines when the pump can run and when it cannot. This is particularly useful for irrigation and agricultural purposes, where the pump should be active only during a specific time period.

These functions prevent pump damage, protect the household from flooding, and also increase user comfort. All functions can be set and customised to the system and user in the Grundfos GO mobile app. SCALA1 communicates with the mobile app via Bluetooth. With Grundfos GO, commissioning and setting up the SCALA1 waterworks is easy and quick. In the app, the user also finds information on individual alarm notifications and their solutions.

The SCALA1 domestic waterworks is available in several sizes with a nominal flow rate of 5 m³/h and a head of 45m in the SCALA1 3-45A version or 6.5 m³/h and a head of 55 m in the SCALA1 5-55A version. For applications requiring higher performance, SCALA1 can be installed as a twin pump using the Grundfos installation set for twin pumps SCALA.
