Danfoss was founded on September 1, 1933, by Mads Clausen on his parents' farm in Nordborg, Denmark. Since then, the company has grown to become one of the world's leading suppliers of energy-efficient and pioneering solutions.
We offer a universal electromagnetic valve from Danfoss for use with water, compressed air, gas, steam, and oil.
This is a two-way indirectly operated electromagnetic valve with an NC function (normally closed when de-energized), which can be used in a wide range of applications. The valve body is made of brass with NBR sealing. The valve also includes a built-in filter that protects the pilot system of the valve and is self-cleaning.
We offer the Danfoss EV220B electromagnetic valves with power supply options of 230 VAC, 24 VAC, and 24 VDC.
1 Clip-On Coil
Thanks to the clip-on coil system, assembly and disassembly are possible without the use of tools.
2 Range of coils up to IP67 protection
With a wide range of coils from IP00 to IP67, it offers optimal solutions for various applications.
3 Better water hammer damping
The optimized shape of the diaphragm assembly and the compensating nozzle reduce water hammer in all valves to as low as 1.5 bar (according to EN 6030-2-8, at a test pressure of 6 bar).
4 Resistance to contamination
The valve has a built-in filter that is self-cleaning. If the compensating nozzle becomes clogged with dirt, it easily cleans itself.
Valve Installation:
1. For the electromagnetic valve to function correctly, it must be installed so that the arrow on the valve body points in the direction of flow.
2. The piping must be securely fastened on both sides of the valve.
3. When applying test pressure, all valves in the system must be open. There are three ways to do this:
Remember to screw the opening unit back (CLOCKWISE) before starting the system, otherwise the valve will not be able to close.
4. Always use counterforce when tightening pipe connections, i.e., use a wrench on both the valve body and the pipe fitting.
5. Always flush the piping before installing the electromagnetic valve. If there are impurities in the medium, a filter should be installed before the valve.
Coil Installation:
1. Danfoss recommends that the electromagnetic valve be mounted with the coil in a vertical position. This minimizes the risk of dirt accumulating in the armature tube. Always ensure the correct operating voltage of the coil.
2. The coil has three pins. The middle pin is marked as shown in the picture (left) and must be used for grounding. The two remaining pins are coil terminals and each can be used either as a phase or as a neutral wire. The terminals can be used as needed for phase or neutral wire.
3. Attention with high-performance valve type!
When mounting the clip-on coil, simply press the coil lightly onto the armature until it clicks into place. An O-ring should be placed on the armature tube before fitting the coil. The cable gland must always be properly screwed in.
