Grundfos Scala1 - Quiet Domestic Waterworks with Hygiene Certification

NEW from Grundfos SCALA1 is a modern fully equipped automatic domestic waterworks. It consists of a self-priming hydraulic system, control unit, pressure tank, pressure sensor, and non-return valve.

Since the SCALA1 domestic waterworks contains all necessary components, it is ready for quick and easy installation immediately after unpacking.

Thanks to the built-in Bluetooth technology, the waterworks can directly communicate with a smart mobile phone, where you can install the Grundfos GO app for free. Through this app, you can achieve more advanced settings and operation customization than is possible from the waterworks control panel.

The SCALA1 domestic waterworks is designed to ensure the pumping of drinking water supply for family homes from dug wells or shallow boreholes up to 8m deep. It can also be used to boost pressure in apartments and houses with low water pressure at the ends of water mains. It is a good helper in ensuring water supply from tanks and reservoirs at cottages and gardens. Thanks to its timer function (via a smartphone), it is also suitable for irrigation systems. SCALA1 also considers unpleasant moments of failure. Therefore, it is equipped with a smart unwanted consumption function (burst pipe). This function stops the waterworks if it runs continuously for a certain period, which you can set again via a smartphone.

The waterworks will activate when you open a tap, causing the system pressure to drop, and will deactivate once the water draw is finished (flow). The SCALA1 domestic waterworks is suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation, but it must not freeze. SCALA1 is exceptionally quiet thanks to special Grundfos technology, where the pumped liquid surrounds the entire internal mechanism and absorbs noise. In normal operation, the noise level is less than 55 dB (A). For better understanding, this value can be compared to the noise level of common washing machines, 46-60 dB.

SCALA1 has protective functions that extend its lifespan and increase reliability in water supply. Dry-running protection - the waterworks is shut down when there is a lack of water in the well or reservoir, or when the inlet water supply is closed (in pressure boosting applications). The anti-cycling function prevents frequent switching on and off in the case of dripping taps or leaking toilets (alert notification).

A breakthrough technical feature of this waterworks is its ability to achieve higher flow rates (up to 10 m3/h) or provide 100% backup by acquiring a TWIN waterworks (doubling). Using a special Grundfos accessory kit, you can connect two waterworks both hydraulically and communicatively - electronically. This kit includes a base plate, connecting pipes with valves, a communication cable for both electronics, and mounting screws. All smart functions are, of course,

included in this TWIN version as well.

These two connected waterworks can be operated in two modes, depending on what you expect from them. Operating modes are selected via a smartphone with GO Remote. If you want the pumps to be equally utilized, you choose either the number of starts or the length of operating time before the pumps switch between each other. The pumps will then change priority, with the one that starts first each time the set operating time or number of starts expires.

If you expect higher performance (flow), there is the "Operation/Assist" mode - both pumps run simultaneously, as is expected with Grundfos - smartly. When the first pump can no longer meet the demand on the consumption side, the second waterworks steps in to assist.

If you expect 100% backup, you will use the Operation/Backup function. Only one pump will run at a time, with the second pump as a backup.
