Pumping Stations

Pumping stations are used, for example, in basement rooms and extensions, i.e., in places where it is not possible to drain wastewater by gravity. They are suitable for toilets, shower cubicles, bathtubs, bidets, sinks, as well as kitchens and household appliances. In our offer, you will also find pumping stations for connecting an entire building to a newly built sewage network and for draining water from condensing boilers.

Pumping stations primarily enable the construction of toilets or technical rooms in places where it would not be possible due to the distance from the main sewer pipe or height difference.
Pumping stations are also a feasible and simple solution when connecting a building to a newly built sewage network in cases where the sewer inlet is higher than your household waste and gravity drainage cannot be used.
These devices do not only work with sewage but, depending on the type, are also capable of handling the pumping of all other waste liquids - for example, from sinks, showers, washing machines, bidets, and moving them to the required height.

How to choose the right pumping station?

When selecting the right product, it is always necessary to first determine from which outlet and to where the wastewater will be pumped.

Household:

When pumping wastewater in the household, it is always necessary to determine the exact number of inlets to the pumping station. For example, consider the unit Grundfos SOLOLIFT2 WC-1, which has two inlets and allows the connection of one toilet, with the second inlet being usable for a sink, shower cubicle, or bidet.
At the same time, it is necessary to determine what will be pumped, for example, stations for toilets are equipped with a grinder. In our range of pumping stations, you will also find a product made in a different material design to withstand the discharge of hot water from sinks, washing machines, and dishwashers. We also offer products for narrower installations.

Boiler Room

With the advent of modern condensing boilers, it is necessary to address the drainage of condensate in basement areas. We offer a special pumping pump that withstands the increased acidity of this liquid. It is a space-saving yet affordable solution that pumps condensate from the basement to the drain using a hose. Additionally, with the Grundfos pumping station, we offer a pH box neutralization unit, which can adjust the acidity to the correct values.

Entire Building

If the property's waste outlet is located below the level of the newly built public sewer, we also offer pumping stations for single and two-generation family houses. In such cases, it is necessary to select a pumping station with appropriate parameters, primarily the appropriate flow rate and transport height.

The stations are designed for the accumulation and central pumping of wastewater with or without sewage and wastewater from toilets. They are capable of pumping liquids containing fibers, textiles, feces, etc., below the sewer level. They are suitable for smaller buildings,
family houses, apartments, cottages, chalets, etc.

Can I use a pumping station for rainwater?

Pumping stations must not pump rainwater for the following two reasons. The motors of these pumping stations are not designed for continuous operation, which may be required in the event of heavy rain. Additionally, in accordance with EN 12056-4, rainwater must not be brought into a pumping station located inside a building.

When is it worth purchasing a pumping station?

Pumping stations can be used in appropriate and suitable sizes for individual apartments, family houses, and commercial buildings. However, there are also smaller stations designed, for example, for a toilet, washing machine, or shower cubicle. It always holds true that the installation of a pumping unit is a simple, functional, and at the same time, cost-effective solution. Construction work that would solve the problem of unsuitable sewer inlet height is sometimes not feasible and, in most cases, would be financially costly.

What is included in a pumping station?

In most cases, for example, with Grundfos Sololift2 products, all parts of the station are concentrated in one unit. Its appearance is unobtrusive and can be placed, for example, behind the toilet bowl. It includes a powerful stainless steel grinder, which can handle even feminine hygiene products. It is also equipped with protection against blockage. The entire unit is then easily removable thanks to the automatic coupling for wet installation in case of clogging.
Another benefit is the installation of an external pressure switch, which reduces the risk of float switch blockage. The switch is also easily accessible and can be easily checked and cleaned if necessary.

Where can a pumping station be installed?

We offer pumping stations in several designs, which differ according to the type of wastewater source. However, all offer compact and flexible connections. They can therefore be easily used as a replacement for a defective product of another brand. Additionally, Grundfos Sololift2 products feature an adjustable adapter for the discharge outlet, making it easy to connect the product to existing piping. Another advantage is the ability to rotate the discharge pipe elbow in all directions. The discharge direction can thus be vertical or horizontal, thanks to the standard installation of a check valve.
