Smart Heating Siemens Connected Home

Siemens Connected Home is a home automation system for more efficient, sustainable, and comfortable heating. It connects smart devices and enables their optimal operation, thereby saving energy, contributing to a more eco-friendly environment, and reducing heating operating costs by up to 30%.

Heating control via mobile

Zone Heating Control Easily and Quickly

Smart Heating Siemens Connected Home is an intelligent solution for radiator heating for homes, apartments, and both small and large commercial spaces. It adjusts the temperature in individual zones (rooms) based on your needs and the behaviour of the heating system itself, thus minimizing energy losses. Siemens heating control records and evaluates data on the desired, indoor, and outdoor temperatures, so it "knows" when to start the heating system to heat the room exactly at the given time. Heating occurs only when needed and only where necessary. Your home and workspaces are thus heated to a comfortable temperature while the energy bill is a third lower.

The smart heating ecosystem Connected Home is based on wireless communication. Components are easily installed without the need for construction work, controlled from one place using an app on a smartphone or tablet, and in case of appliance replacement (boiler, radiator), devices can be easily dismantled and reinstalled. The system is sustainable in itself: the technology can adapt and connect with smart devices in the home even when expanding the system. You can thus add more smart Siemens Connected Home devices to your household at any time.

Safe and Reliable Connection via ZigBee

The ZigBee router connects individual components with each other and with the Connected Home app. Within seconds, you can pair it with a smartphone, and the router then controls the switching unit and wireless radiator valves according to heating requirements. Communication takes place via the ZigBee 3.0 protocol, which is among the PAN wireless network technologies (like Bluetooth). You can thus pair various smart home devices and control them from anywhere with a single mobile device. Thanks to this method of connection, you can additionally add more components and expand your home not only in connection with smart heating.

The Siemens ZigBee router allows wireless connection of up to 100 devices, 32 of which can be battery-powered (such as radiator valves). For larger applications where this number is insufficient, you simply add more routers to increase the possible number of valves in the system. You connect the router to the internet using WLAN (wirelessly) or Ethernet (cable), but the Siemens router does not require a constant internet connection. In case of an internet outage, you do not need to worry about the temperature in your home.

The range of the ZigBee router signal is around 60 m indoors (up to 100 m outdoors), and to amplify it, you can use a switching unit, or another router as a signal repeater. The same solution can be used if you need to control heating in multiple separate zones.

Switching the Heat Source

The Siemens Connected Home wireless relay unit allows control of two relays, thus serving to control the heat source and prepare hot water. It allows connection to an output relay with potential-free contacts and can thus be connected to most commonly available boilers, heat pumps, flow heaters, and other hydronic systems.

You can connect the switching unit to the ZigBee router within seconds, and the unit then controls the boiler based on heating requirements. However, it also allows for manual switching of output relays, and for larger applications, you can use it as a signal repeater. The relay unit is designed to handle a high number of switching cycles, and in case of boiler replacement, it can be easily dismantled and reinstalled.

Smart Radiator Valves

Wireless radiator valves adjust the temperature in individual rooms (zones). Connecting to the smart heating system via the ZigBee network is as easy as with other components and takes only a few seconds. Radiator valves can be used "just" as smart radiator valves without boiler control, and thanks to control buttons, you can adjust the temperature manually.

They feature a child safety lock, open window detection function, frost protection, and the package includes two AA batteries needed for their power supply, lasting approximately 2 years.

Zone Heating Control

Control Heating from One Place

The Connected Home app is used for controlling the smart heating system and other Siemens smart home devices. You can set heating schedules and individual temperatures in zones (rooms), including messages and notifications. Heating control is possible from anywhere, allowing you to adjust settings to your current needs at any time. The app is compatible with smartphones and tablets running iOS and Android. It is in Czech language and multiple people can manage one household.

Remote Heating Control via the Internet in Minutes

The quickest and easiest way to start with smart heating is by purchasing a cost-effective set, which includes a ZigBee router, a switching unit, and a varying number of wireless radiator valves. Siemens Connected Home Sets minimize initial costs, and everything you need for heating control can be ordered with a few clicks.
