When to Choose a Pump with a Frequency Converter in Water Pressure Boosting Systems

Variable speed pumps (with a frequency converter) are primarily used in applications where it is crucial to maintain constant pressure and low energy consumption.

If customers at home require constant water pressure, quiet operation, and high energy efficiency, consider acquiring a water booster with a frequency converter. The desired pressure can be set on-site according to the customer's needs.

Water boosters without a frequency converter with constant speed are better suited for applications where you continuously need full pressure, such as water supply for toilets, irrigation, or rainwater collection. The lower price of these water boosters can also play an important role.

Grundfos Scala1 3-45

Grundfos offers these pumps for water pressure boosting:

With a frequency converter:
SCALA2 (self-priming domestic water booster)
CMBE (booster station, not self-priming)
Hydro Solo-E (automatic pressure station)
SQE (submersible pumps for wells)

With constant speed:
SCALA1 (self-priming)
Water boosters JP PM and JP PT (self-priming)
CMB (booster station, not self-priming)
