The wireless thermostatic head from Honeywell is designed to control a heating element communicating at a frequency of 868 MHz. The head is compatible with the Evohome smart heating system. A major advantage of the head is the backlit, position-adjustable display. Choosing the position improves readability. To illuminate the display, simply press a button or turn the head.

To set the temperature, you can use a connected thermostat or simply manually turn the head. Thus, the temperature can be changed at any time. The head is also equipped with a "Window" function, so it detects when a window is opened in the room. It then closes the radiator valve and shuts off the supply of heating water to prevent the ventilated room from being unnecessarily heated and to save on energy costs. The "Window" function works based on a sudden drop in temperature due to ventilation; after closing the window and the temperature rises again, the head reopens the valve and heats the room to the appropriate temperature. External window contacts HCA30 can be purchased for the head, which accelerates the head's response to an open window. Another useful feature is frost protection, where the head automatically turns on the heat supply when the room temperature drops to 5°C and heats the room until at least 6°C is reached.
