The pipeline separator protects drinking water systems against contamination caused by backflow or back-siphonage of utility water into the drinking water network. It complies with DIN1988 part 4, type 1 construction. It offers better protection than check valves as it allows protection up to risk class 3.

Compact design with easy maintenance, without the need to remove the separator from the pipeline. The separator is characterized by low pressure loss and high flow rate. When the pipeline separator is closed, a green color appears under the transparent cover. The separator is certified for use in drinking water systems and complies with KTW recommendations.

Available in four variants with different opening pressures - A 0.5 bar, B 1 bar, C 1.5 bar, D 2 bar

Construction

  • body with pressure gauge
  • check valve on the outlet connection
  • threaded connection fittings
  • spring cover
  • drain opening
  • valve insert with spring
  • piston guide with double O-ring seal

How does the separator work?

The inlet pressure acts on the annular surface of the valve piston and pushes it against the direction of the spring, keeping the valve in an open position allowing flow. The pipeline separator remains open for flow until the inlet pressure drops below a certain value, causing the valve to close as the spring overcomes the low pressure.

Typical areas of application

  • domestic bathroom or shower systems connected via hoses
  • softening and deacidification of industrial operations without DVGW certification
  • connection of garden taps
  • vending machines with drinking water connection
  • hot water boilers, automatically pressurized boilers
  • filling systems for heating systems without DVGW certification, water without inhibitors
  • air conditioning
