Download PDFHoneywell (Resideo) RV280-11/4A is a check valve with a 1 1/4" female thread, designed as a standalone protection device against backflow of water. It prevents reverse flow, back pressure and back siphonage in accordance with the requirements of EN 1717.
The valve is used in potable water systems in both commercial and industrial installations, typically immediately downstream of the water meter. It is also suitable for central heating systems, as a safety element for liquids, downstream of pumping equipment or upstream of water heating equipment. In addition to water, the valve can also be used with petroleum, compressed air, paraffin, petrol or heating oil; however, it is not suitable for steam, heavy oils or benzole.
The spring-loaded disc closes against the seat and lifts off it in proportion to the flow rate. As soon as the flow rate drops towards zero, the spring returns the disc to the seat and seals the waterway – the force exerted by the spring is always lower than the pressure of the flowing medium, so the valve remains open to flow. The opening pressure is approximately 0.05 bar, so the valve does not create pressure surges and has a low pressure loss. The valve can be installed in any position.
