Industrial Gas Sensors

Gas sensors for industry detect the presence of substances such as natural gas (methane), LPG, hydrogen, oxygen, refrigerants, carbon monoxide, fire smoke, and others. These are often volatile substances that are either harmful to the human body or pose an explosion hazard. An alarm is triggered when an increased concentration of a substance is detected in the air. This value is defined separately for each measured gas. The alarm has three forms: an audible signal, a flashing LED, and a signal sent to the control panel. It is worthwhile to install gas detectors and sensors not only in homes but also, for example, in garages and especially in industrial facilities, where hazardous gases are a common byproduct of industrial production. However, to ensure they function correctly, it is also important to pay attention to their proper placement. For example, methane detectors are best placed near the ceiling, while LPG detectors are best placed near the floor. Care should also be taken to ensure there are no obstacles nearby, such as cabinets or curtains. For safety reasons, gas detectors signal much lower gas concentrations than those that actually pose a risk of explosion or poisoning.

Operational safety should always be a priority, which is why gas detectors are essential wherever there is a risk of leakage or even accumulation of unwanted gases. This is primarily due to the explosion hazard, which can be prevented by installing a gas leak detector. The advantage is the possibility of connecting a safety device to shut off the gas supply, activate automatic ventilation of affected areas, and alert the operator or provide an acoustic or visual warning signal.

Stationary detectors are suitable for both industrial and domestic use. Common applications include garages, boiler rooms, cold storage facilities, restaurants, etc. Installation is possible, for example, on a wall.
