Download PDFA radiator thermostat is installed onto a thermostatic radiator valve body (TRV body). The combination of both, the thermostatic radiator valve (TRV), controls the room temperature by adjusting the flow of hot water through a radiator. TRVs are installed in water-based heating systems on the supply or, less commonly on the return connection of radiators. The thera-2 thermostatic controller is supplied with a built-in or separate temperature sensor. A separate sensor is recommended if the controller head cannot be freely accessible to the airflow from the room.
Together with specially designed valves, thermostatic valves are used in cooling water systems to control separate cooling circuits. Controllers of this type comply with the European standard EN215 when used with certain TRV bodies. This type of thermostatic controller with M30 × 1,5 connection fitting is suitable for all Honeywell TRV housings and radiator inlets, all Honeywell M series valves and also for Danfoss RS connection type.
