Download PDFRefrigerant detector is used to detect and warn early of a dangerous (toxic) concentration of the refrigerant being sensed. It is important to detect leakage of previously used chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and of today's HFCs. The leakage of these gases has a negative impact on the environment and the formation of the ozone layer. In the event of leakage, refrigerant may also accumulate in enclosed spaces up to toxic levels. It is therefore necessary to provide early warning of leakage using a detector.
Hydrocarbon refrigerants tend to decline because they are heavier than air. Refrigerant detectors should therefore be mounted to the floor near a potential leak location. The recommended coverage area of one detector is 80 ... 120m2, which corresponds to a radius of about 5 ... 6m.
Refrigerant detectors are widely used, ranging from kitchens and restaurants to cold stores, warehouses, supermarkets, skating rinks and food industry factories.
The EVIKON E2608-HFC detector is equipped with two-stage signaling with outputs to the switching relay. It does not have its own visual and acoustic signaling. The E2608 series detectors are an intelligent solution for modern applications with ModBus RS485 communication and two 4-20mA/0-10V analog outputs.
Made in robust design with IP65 protection - ABS plastic, resistant to mechanical damage. Rigid, tough, resistant to low and high temperatures, poorly absorbent, harmless to health. The service life of the detector is more than 10 years.
Each detector is factory calibrated to the default values (described in the manual). The law states that recalibration must be performed at least once every 12 months. Calibration may only be performed by a person certified by the manufacturer.
The detector is designed to detect refrigerants:
R-12, R-123, R-125, R-134a, R-143, R-22, R-404a, R-407c, R-410a, etc.
