Download PDFActuator for 2-way and 3-way valves with continuous or discontinuous output. The actuator contains a stepper motor controlled by an electronic unit SUT (Sauter Universal Technology) and features a maintenance-free gear and force-dependent electronic shutdown. It automatically detects the control signal used (continuous/switched). It can be set to either a linear or equal-percentage characteristic. The actuator automatically adapts to the valve stroke value. A brass nut is available for mounting. Installation is possible from an upright vertical to a horizontal position.
Depending on the connection method, the actuator can be used as continuous 0...V, as 2P, or as 3P.
As 2P
The actuator is powered by the blue (MM) and black (02) wires. Connecting the brown (01) wire opens the control branch of the valve. If the power is disconnected, the actuator moves to the opposite end position and closes the valve. Unused wires (03, 05) are recommended to be insulated to prevent contact with others.
As 3P
The actuator is powered by the blue (MM) and brown (01) wires, or the blue (MM) and black (02) wires. It acts on the valve via the rod and opens the valve when voltage is applied to the brown wire. If the circuit is closed via the black wire, the actuator closes the valve. In case of overload or if the actuator reaches the end positions, the motor is electronically disconnected. Unused wires (03, 05) are recommended to be insulated to prevent contact with others.
As continuous 0...10 V
The actuator is controlled by an integrated position controller depending on the signal y.
Direction of action 1: voltage on the brown (01) wire - with an increasing control signal, the rod extends and opens the valve.
Direction of action 2: voltage on the black (02) wire - with an increasing control signal, the rod retracts and closes the valve.
The initial point and range of the control signal are permanently set. Accessories are available for setting partial ranges, allowing for adjustment of the range and direction of the control signal.
After manual adjustment or in the event of a power failure lasting more than 5 minutes, the actuator automatically resets (AVM105 35 s, AVM115 60 s).
When voltage is applied, the stepper motor moves to the end position of the valve and closes it. Depending on the control voltage, any stroke between 0 to 8 mm can be achieved.
If the control signal in direction of action 1 is interrupted, the valve fully closes.
