Steam control valves

Steam control valves are used for regulating the flow of steam, air, and liquid in distribution systems. They are lift valves used for setting and maintaining the desired pressure (amount of medium) in both open and closed circuits of heating systems, air conditioning, and ventilation, such as boiler rooms, district heating systems, cooling devices, and air conditioning units.

Steam control valves are designed to withstand demanding conditions during the flow of the operating medium, however, when selecting them, it is important to consider the maximum pressure of the medium. It is also crucial to ensure correct integration into the system according to the flow direction, which is always marked on the outside of the valve. Steam control valves are maintenance-free, but if the operating medium contains a larger amount of mechanical impurities, it may shorten their lifespan, reduce functionality, or cause damage. To ensure long-term reliable operation, we recommend installing a suitable filter before the valve in the distribution system.

In steam distribution systems, special control valves for steam are often used to set and maintain the desired pressure. Control valves designed for steam distribution can generally also be used for air distribution and heating water distribution. The permissible maximum medium pressure and the characteristics of closure and flow can be found in the specification of each individual product. The control valve is marked on the outside with the direction of flow, which is very important for correct installation. Lift valves for steam and actuators are maintenance-free, during service interventions on the control element, the steam supply must always be shut off or reliably closed. For proper functionality and long-term durability, it is strongly recommended to place a suitable filter before the valve to capture any small mechanical impurities.
