It is designed for switching the heat source, thus ensuring an adequate supply of hot water in the heating system. It is also applicable in scenarios where, besides switching the heat source, water heating in the storage tank is required. The Siemens switching unit can control both simultaneously thanks to two volt-free relay contacts. Additionally, it serves as a signal repeater for the Siemens Connected Home system when greater range is needed.
The switching unit is powered via a 230 V cable and communicates wirelessly with other Siemens smart heating elements using the ZigBee 3.0 protocol. This makes it easy to install and connect with the ZigBee router GTW100ZB and the Connected Home mobile app, which then controls the entire heating system based on your requirements, including the radiator valves SSA911.02ZB. The switching unit also allows for manual control of the relay contacts.
The Siemens Connected Home smart heating system is developed for heating residential and commercial buildings. In larger applications where a stronger ZigBee range is needed, the relay switching unit also serves as a signal repeater.
The relay unit can be used for controlling gas boilers, heat pumps, zone valves, pumps, domestic heat exchange stations, flow water heaters, and small hot water heating systems.
