The Man in Cold Room Alarm Signalling Unit Evikon E6600-RS485 is designed to enhance the safety of individuals working in refrigerated or freezing environments. The system allows for summoning help in emergencies, such as injury or accidental entrapment in a low-temperature area. It is suitable for installation in environments with consistently low temperatures down to –40°C.

The system consists of two parts:

• Button module with LED indication, which is mounted inside the cooling or freezing area. Pressing the button activates the alarm.
• Outdoor warning unit combining optical (flashing LED beacon) and acoustic (sound signal) signalling, which is placed outside the cooling room.

Both parts are connected by a 4-wire cable and require a power supply of 12–30 V DC. The device is designed with IP65 protection, ensuring resistance to dust and splashing water. The signalling unit is supplied ready for installation, with a pre-connected cable and necessary mounting elements.

Application:

The device is particularly suitable for operations where workers move within cooling or freezing chambers, such as food storage facilities, distribution centres, butcheries, manufacturing plants, or hospital and laboratory facilities. It serves as a simple yet effective safety element that allows a trapped person to call for help in the event of a technical door failure, fainting, injury, or other crisis situations. The prominent sound and light signal alerts the surroundings to the need for intervention.

• The Evikon E6600 alarm unit itself with 2x 3A SPDT relay and RS485 Modbus RTU communication
• 1x illuminated emergency button

Up to 5 emergency buttons can be connected to the device. One button is included in the package, additional ones can be purchased. When used with multiple buttons, an external power source must be added, and the battery backup time decreases.
