Wafer Butterfly Valves

Wafer-type shut-off and control valves are known as butterfly valves, primarily due to the shape of the mounting structure, which resembles butterfly wings. They are used for closing pipelines or regulating flow.

The use of wafer butterfly valves is primarily offered in the distribution of drinking and utility water. Additionally, they are used in the distribution of cold and hot water for heating or cooling. Butterfly valves are also found in the gas industry, air conditioning systems, and the distribution of liquid and gaseous media. Since wafer butterfly valves are not designed for gradual flow regulation, we use them mainly where open/close positions are required. Their mechanism can be equipped according to user requirements for more convenient remote control with an actuator, which is appreciated even for less accessible valves. Moreover, the actuator (for example, a proven Belimo actuator manufacturer) can be connected to a sophisticated control system for the entire measurement and regulation system. Depending on the materials used, wafer butterfly valves can be used, for example, for shutting off water supply to the required temperature, controlling air conditioning intensity, or when pumping various chemicals, etc. In this case, the selection is guided by the type of material used for the valve disc. It can be cast iron with epoxy coating combined with an EDPM (ethylene-propylene rubber) liner. Another fairly commonly used material is a stainless steel valve disc, which is particularly suitable for applications with drinking water.

We are, of course, happy to advise you on selecting the appropriate wafer butterfly valve.
