The pipeline separator protects drinking water systems from contamination caused by back pressure, backflow, or back siphoning of utility water into the drinking water network. It offers better protection than check valves as it allows protection up to risk class 4.

Compact design with easy maintenance, without the need to remove the separator from the pipeline. The separator is characterized by low pressure loss and high flow rate. When the pipeline separator is closed, a green color appears under the transparent cover. The separator is certified for use in drinking water systems and complies with KTW recommendations.

Available in three variants with different opening pressures - A 0.5 bar, B 1 bar, C 1.5 bar.

Construction

  • body with pressure gauge
  • check valve on the outlet connection
  • electrically operated switching valve
  • shock absorber
  • connecting threaded fittings
  • spring cover
  • drain hole
  • valve insert with spring
  • piston guide with double O-ring seal

How does the separator work?

The electrically operated switching valve receives signals from a pressure or flow switch, or from a water level indicator. When such a signal is received (during water withdrawal), the valve hydraulically moves to the open position allowing flow. When the water withdrawal stops, the valve closes and prevents further flow.

Typical areas of application

  • chemical plants
  • chemical cleaning facilities
  • softening and deacidification operations without DVGW certification
  • heating system filling assemblies without DVGW approval, water without inhibitors
  • electroplating baths
  • boilers and equipment for automatic pressure fermentation
  • beverage dispensers
