Sensor for monitoring the level of IFM LMT100 liquid, viscous and bulk or powder media in containers and pipes. It is used for level detection and as a protection against empty running. Separate setting of the two switching thresholds enables the detection of two different media (e.g. for phase separation or media differentiation).

The device works on the principle of analyzing the electrical behavior of the medium , which needs to be monitored, in the frequency range between 50 and 200 MHz. The probe creates an electric field on which the surface of the medium acts.

Not suitable for abrasive media and heavy bulk material.
