Belimo GK actuator for HVAC dampers with electric emergency function based on the capacitor principle. 

Actuator Functions

In the event of a power interruption, the damper is rotated to its default position by the energy stored in the capacitors. The principle of the emergency function is therefore different from traditional spring-return actuators.

• The actuator can be operated manually using a locking button. 
• The rotation direction switch changes the actuator's operating direction during normal operation.
• The "emergency position" switch allows you to set the desired emergency position.

Capacitor Charging

The actuator requires a certain amount of time to charge to operational capacity. The charging time of the actuator depends on the duration of the power disconnection. However, the charging time does not exceed 20 seconds, which corresponds to a power outage of more than 10 days.

The actuator is delivered from the factory completely discharged. For initial commissioning, it requires approximately 20 seconds of charging for the capacitors to reach the required voltage level.

Features

• The actuator is protected against overload, and no end stops are required.
• Simple installation on the damper shaft using a universal bracket.
• The actuator can be equipped with auxiliary switching contacts S...A or a potentiometer.

Conventional Operation: The actuator is controlled by a DC 0-10V signal and moves to the position specified by the control signal. The voltage at terminal U serves to display feedback from 0...100%.

MP-BUS Operation: The actuator receives a digital control signal from the master controller via MP-Bus and moves to the specified position. Terminal U serves as a communication interface and does not send an analogue measuring voltage.

Connectivity with the LOXONE Smart Home System 

Connection with the Loxone system is realised through the Belimo MP-Bus interface. To connect, you will need the product Loxone - Belimo Tree. Belimo Tree is an interface that allows the connection of up to 16 Belimo MP-Bus devices. Thanks to the native integration of MP-Bus, Belimo products become a direct part of Loxone Config and Miniserver, ensuring easy configuration and management. Belimo Tree significantly simplifies the connection of Belimo devices with the Loxone system, enabling quick and error-free setup of all functions. Its compact design and wide compatibility make this interface an ideal choice for modern and efficient building automation.
