The bivalent mixing valve ESBE series VRB 142 is made from DZR brass with protection against zinc leaching. The valve is used for applications with two independent heat sources connected in series or parallel. The valve is equipped with an adjustable handwheel with a scale, which also features end stops. The valve's operating range is a maximum of 90 °C. The scale located under the adjustment knob can be positioned anywhere along the rotation path of the mixing valve's core, depending on the valve's orientation in the application.

Function

The VRB 142 valve has two inputs from heat sources. They can be connected in series or parallel. A more economical energy source can be connected to input 1 and a backup source to input 2. If there is no demand for heat, both inputs are closed. When heat is needed, input 1 opens first until it is fully open. In case of greater heat demand, the input from source 2 begins to open gradually while input 1 starts to close. The final phase is when input 1 is completely closed and input 2 is fully open. The function is similar in principle to a three-way valve but with the difference of having two inputs instead of one.

Service and Maintenance

All main parts can be replaced or resealed - a gasket set or a complete renovation kit is available. In most cases, it is not necessary to remove the valve from the application during servicing.
