Industrial use

Wide range of industrial applications

Suitable for water treatment plants, food processing, pharmaceuticals and more

Pneumatic shut-off butterfly valves are widely used across various industries where reliability and long service life are essential. They are used primarily in water and wastewater treatment plants, where they provide precise control of liquid flow. They also play an important role in the food and beverage industry, where strict hygiene standards must be met. In the pharmaceutical industry, they contribute to safe handling of chemicals and sterile media, while in the chemical industry they withstand aggressive substances. Another key area of application is the oil and gas sector, where high resistance to extreme conditions is required.

The main advantage of these valves is their corrosion resistance, ensured by the 316SS stainless steel disc. The GG25 cast iron body with epoxy coating provides excellent mechanical strength and long service life. The valves are available with various types of pneumatic actuators, tailored to specific applications. Another benefit is their easy installation and maintenance, which reduces operating costs and ensures trouble-free system operation.

Key features:

  • Actuator: Double-acting pneumatic actuator for precise and reliable operation.
  • Disc material: 316SS stainless steel – high chemical resistance.
  • Design: Wafer type in accordance with EN 558-1/20.
  • Seal: EPDM
  • Rotation angle: 90°
  • Control: On/Off
  • Temperature range: -10°C to +80°C

DA double-acting pneumatic actuator

The valve is fitted with a TORK DA pneumatic actuator, which provides:

  • High reliability thanks to robust construction.
  • Optimised performance with low air consumption.
  • Compact design for easy integration into the system.

Double-acting pneumatic actuators use compressed air to drive the valve in both directions – opening and closing. They operate by alternately supplying air to two chambers, enabling precise valve position control and fast response. Unlike single-acting actuators, they do not use a spring to return to the default position, ensuring constant force and uniform performance in both directions. They are widely used in industrial automation, especially where high accuracy and fast valve response are required. Thanks to their design, they offer long service life, low maintenance requirements and are suitable for high-cycle applications.

SIL certification

The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) issued the IEC 61108 standard, which defines safety requirements.

To obtain SIL certification, the device must meet all defined requirement categories; for example, SIL 3 allows the possibility of a dangerous product failure only once every 1,140 years, reflecting a very high level of reliability.

Actuator options

On request, valves can be supplied fitted with pneumatic actuators:

  • With ATEX certification
  • With PTFE coating
  • Arctic version down to -60°C
  • 3-point control
