The valve is fitted with a TORK SR single-acting pneumatic actuator, which provides:
- Reliability with spring return in the event of air supply failure.
- Optimised performance with low air consumption.
- Compact design for easy integration into the system.
Single-acting pneumatic actuators use compressed air to drive the valve in only one direction (opening or closing). A spring is used to return it to its default position. When air is supplied to the actuator, the valve, for example, opens; when the air is disconnected, the spring force automatically returns it to its original (closed) position. This type of actuator is ideal for applications where, for safety reasons, an automatic valve response is required in the event of a loss of power. They are widely used across various industries thanks to their reliability and simplicity.
SIL certification
The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) issued the IEC 61108 standard, which defines safety requirements.
To obtain SIL certification, a device must meet all defined requirement categories; for example, SIL 3 allows the possibility of a dangerous product failure only once every 1,140 years, reflecting a very high level of reliability.
Actuator options
On request, valves can be supplied fitted with pneumatic actuators:
- With ATEX certification
- With PTFE coating
- Arctic version down to -60°C
- 3-point control
