The ALPHA3 circulation pump is designed for heating systems in family homes. It offers the renowned Grundfos quality, easy installation, top-notch energy efficiency, and reliable operation even in the most demanding conditions.
To fully utilize the ALPHA3 pump, installers need two additional important components - the ALPHA Reader sensor module and the Grundfos GO Balance app. This modern ALPHA3 system allows installers to complete hydronic balancing quickly and accurately.
The pump shaft is made of ceramic, preventing the deposition of magnetic particles contained in the pumped liquid in the most critical parts of the pump.
An intelligent control mode that always selects the most suitable operating point of the pump depending on the current need for heat supply to the building (weather changes). The AUTOADAPT function ensures unattended operation – the pump operates autonomously and adjusts its performance over time to the operating conditions in the system.
The pump adjusts the head height to the current flow in the system, meaning that with increasing flow rate, the pump increases the head height. Suitable regulation for systems with fluctuating flow and high differential temperature, especially for standard two-pipe radiator systems.
The pump maintains constant pressure in the system regardless of the flow rate. Suitable regulation for systems with constant flow and low differential temperature, especially for underfloor heating and single-pipe radiator systems.
The pump operates at fixed speed levels I, II, III – equivalent to old three-speed pumps. Suitable regulation for systems with constant flow, especially for hot water circulation systems.
With the ALPHA3 pump, the ALPHA Reader sensor module, and the Grundfos GO Balance app, installers can perform hydronic balancing easily and quickly without negatively affecting the pump's operation or efficiency.
Hydronic balancing with ALPHA3 and ALPHA Reader is used for:
- two-pipe heating systems
The ALPHA Reader is a small device that attaches to the front of the ALPHA3 pump. During balancing, it reads the optical signal on the pump and communicates via Bluetooth with the Grundfos GO Balance app.
Once hydronic balancing is completed, the ALPHA Reader can be easily removed and used for another installation.
The Grundfos GO Balance app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. The app evaluates the Bluetooth signal from the ALPHA Reader module and guides you through four simple steps of hydronic balancing of the heating system.
