Download PDFBelimo Energy Valve™ is an intelligent, pressure-independent control valve for HVAC applications. It is based on Belimo's characterised control valve (CCV) technology, which ensures tight closure. The flow through the valve is continuously measured by an ultrasonic flow meter. This meter includes a patented method for detecting and compensating glycol. Accurate flow information is used for electronic compensation of any pressure fluctuations in the system.
The Energy Valve has integrated power control and delta T logic for performance monitoring and heat exchange optimisation by maintaining a minimum, freely adjustable differential temperature difference. In addition to the standard analogue signal and feedback, the Energy Valve communicates its data to the building management system (BMS) via Belimo MP-Bus, BACnet, or Modbus communication. The integrated web server allows easy parameterisation of the Energy Valve and provides clear real-time visualisation of valve operation. Performance data is stored on the drive for 13 months. Belimo Cloud offers the option of lifetime data storage.

The thermal energy supplied in the heating system is accurately measured and recorded using a reliable ultrasonic method. This data helps identify potential areas for HVAC system optimisation. When connected to the Belimo Cloud, it provides secure access to consumption data.
Glycol measurement and compensation ensure accurate energy measurement under all circumstances. An advanced, patented algorithm determines the percentage of glycol in the fluid. This allows continuous monitoring during system operation. Additionally, energy measurement always occurs with accurate flow values.
Power control redefines the possibilities of control valve management. This dynamic mode provides the only truly linear relationship between the control signal and output power. This control mode makes the Energy Valve independent of differential pressure and the temperature of the supplied water, ensuring greater comfort and minimising control oscillations.
The volumetric flow through the valve is continuously measured, and pressure fluctuations in the hydraulic system are immediately compensated. This makes hydraulic balancing unnecessary.
The integrated logic prevents the occurrence of low Delta T and ensures maximum comfort with the lowest possible energy consumption. Monitoring the correct delta T is important for performance monitoring and heat exchange optimisation.

Belimo Energy Valve™ is equipped with an NFC interface (Near Field Communication) allowing easy configuration and maintenance directly from a smartphone. Using the Belimo Assistant app, the device can be intuitively configured and values recorded during commissioning. Key performance indicators, which facilitate determining the "health status" of the device, ensure reliable operation. A range of diagnostic parameters shows how the device interacts with the system during operation. If maintenance is required, a fault analysis can be quickly performed.
