Water filters capture mechanical impurities in flowing water and thus reduce the content of foreign particles, such as grains and fragments of sand, impurities from water pipes, and any other substances. These particles are undesirable especially in the case of water intended for drinking, but they also have a negative impact on appliances that draw water: they shorten their lifespan and increase operating costs. Plumbing filters can effectively remove coarse impurities from water for industrial applications (flanged filters), clean rainwater (rainwater filters) and effectively filter even finer impurities for drinking water (domestic filters for cold water and for hot water). Water treatment using a mechanical filter is thus one of the most important steps in filtration, which protects not only appliances but mainly your health.

Solid substances contained in water also affect the lifespan and functionality of the filter itself. Each type of filter requires slightly different care, however, the principle remains the same: the filter needs to be regularly cleared of deposited impurities and if necessary, damaged components should be replaced, especially seals. To filter substances dissolved in water, you can equip filters with an active carbon insert. We recommend complementing domestic filters with an automatic backwash unit that will clean the filter for you.
