Regin SDD series optical detectors are suitable for placement in ducts, pipes and ventilation systems . They meet all the requirements of a fire alarm installation . They have an alarm for early warning of smoke. Detectors with relays are not connected to the control panel, but allow the detector to trigger an alarm independently without being connected to the control unit.

Optical detectors respond to visible smoke particles . They work on the principle of light reflection from smoke particles entering the detector chamber. An infrared LED illuminates the space in front of which the air flows. In the case of the entry of smoke particles, the light is reflected and scattered around the chamber, where it is detected by a phototransistor, which then triggers an alarm. The detectors are supplied with a 540 mm long venturi , which can be shortened to the required length. A viewing window on the detector cover allows a view of the flow indicator and a red warning LED . It lights up in the event of a fire alarm.
