The pipe separator protecting drinking water distribution from contamination due to backflow or ingestion of hot water back into the drinking water network. Conforms to DIN1988 part 4 of type 1 design. It offers better protection than check valves as it allows protection up to risk class 3.

Compact, easy-to-maintain design, eliminating the need to remove the separator from the pipeline. The separator is characterized by low pressure loss and high flow. When the pipe separator is closed, a green color appears under the transparent cover. The separator is certified for use in drinking water installations and is in accordance with the KTW recommendation.

Available in four versions with different opening pressure - A 0,5 bar, B 1 bar, C 1,5 bar, D 2 bar

Construction

    • body with manometer
    • check valve for outlet connection
    • connecting threaded fittings
    • spring cover
    • drain hole
    • valve insert with spring
    • piston guide with double O-ring seal

    How does the separator work?

The inlet pressure acts on the annular surface of the valve piston and pushes it against the direction of the spring so that the valve is held in the open position allowing flow. The manifold remains open for flow until the inlet pressure drops below a certain value, causing the valve to close because the spring overpressures the low pressure.

    Typical applications

    • household bathroom or shower systems connected with hoses
    • softening and deacidification of industrial plants without DVGW certification
    • connection of garden taps
    • vending machines with drinking water connection
    • hot water boilers, automatically pressurized boilers
    • filling systems for heating systems without DVGW certification, water without inhibitors
    • air conditioning
