Mixing valves are used to regulate water temperature by mixing hot and cold water. We offer three-way and four-way mixing valves, including actuators. Additionally, we provide installation kits for actuator installation, as well as renovation kits, seals, and other spare parts.
To achieve the desired water temperature, mixing valves are the best solution. For example, in domestic hot water systems, the liquid temperature coming from the boiler often exceeds 60°C. However, to prevent scalding in applications, the mixing valve can dilute the liquid with cold water to achieve the optimal temperature in the system. The valve can be regulated either by a thermostatic cartridge, an actuator, or manually.
Mixing valves are used for heating applications, cooling, underfloor heating, solar systems, ventilation, central distribution, hot and drinking water.
Except for the cast iron series 3F and 4F, mixing valves are made from highly durable brass, which is treated against zinc loss. This makes them suitable for use in both heating and cooling systems.
In our range, you will find products from the Swedish company ESBE, which boast the highest level of sealing on the market - the complaint rate for these products is less than 0.05%.
In the sale of these valves, Bola spol. s.r.o. is the leader in the Czech market.
Mixing valves are divided into three-way and four-way based on the connection and purpose of the fitting or the entire system. When selecting, it is also necessary to consider whether you can manage with simpler manual control or opt for electronic control, facilitated by an actuator. For some types of valves, we can offer a kit for retrofit installation of an electric actuator. A separate category is thermostatic mixing valves. We address questions regarding their purchase and operation here.
No, as mentioned above, we also offer valves that are manually operated or controlled by an actuator. However, all thermostatic valves are also mixing valves. For example, the VRG series is mixing but not thermostatic, with mixing occurring via a baffle (quarter-sphere and half-sphere) inside the valve, where hot and cold water are mechanically mixed.
In contrast, in the VTA series, mixing occurs via a thermostatic cartridge, where thermal expansion opens and closes the hot water. The cartridges are replaceable and can be found in our offer.
The use of three-way mixing valves is very broad. They serve for the distribution and regulation of heating water, allowing for the resulting mixture to reach the desired temperature. They find application in underfloor heating, central distribution, solar systems, and are used in the distribution and installations of cooling systems, ventilation applications, and air conditioning operation. Some types of three-way mixing valves can also be used as distribution or switching taps.
Connection is provided via external or internal threads, and there are also versions with flanged connections.
Three-way mixing valves are controlled either by a manual adjustable wheel or, when used in a sophisticated system, they utilize a central control system and actuators. Through them, prompt adjustment of valve parameters is ensured according to current needs, minimizing energy losses.
For actuator installation, a suitable adapter is required, which is of course available in our offer. For installation, you can choose a complete installation kit, which includes a profiled sheet, shaft, and mounting screw. You can use Belimo actuators or ESBE actuators.
VRG130 is used for mixing the output heating water to the desired temperature. For example, solid fuel boilers produce very hot water. The mixing valve then mixes in cold water so that the liquid reaching the radiators has the appropriate parameters.
VRG1/VRG132 differ in the connection thread, internal/external. The key to the correct selection is the connection dimension.
VRG 230 are distribution or switching fittings used for switching between circuits - for example, between heating and accumulation.
VRG231/232 differ in the connection thread, internal/external. The key to the correct selection is the size of the valve, i.e., the connection dimension.
The entire VRG range can be motorized using the ESBE ARA actuator range for DN 15-50, for DN 50-150 the ESBE 92/ ESBE 95 actuator range
Replacements for Older Series of Mixing Valves
Valve series 3MG, 4MG, 3G and 4G have been replaced by the newer series VRG 130/140. If you do not want to remove the older valve, we offer a full range of renovation kits. We are also able to motorize older valves.
In heating applications and distribution and mixing systems, modern four-way mixing valves have proven to be excellent. The valve body is most often made of brass, ensuring high quality and long product durability thanks to DRZ protective treatment against zinc leaching.
These valves generally find their place primarily in heating and cooling systems, with the dual mixing function allowing a portion of the hot water supplied from the boiler to be mixed with the return water from the radiator circuit. This serves to ensure a higher temperature of water entering the boiler and thus protects the boiler against low-temperature corrosion.
Included with the four-way mixing valve is a control wheel with a clear scale. The rotation range for these types of valves is "all around," meaning they have no end stops. The scale can be set to any position as needed.
If you want to control the mixing valve via an actuator, a simple installation of the appropriate adapter can adapt the valve. In addition to ESBE actuators, for most types, Belimo actuators can also be used.
The connection of four-way mixing valves into the circuit is done with an internal or external thread on the fitting body, or you can choose a flanged variant. The body of mixing taps with flanges is made of grey cast iron.
For resealing or additional installations of valves and filters, we recommend always replacing seal kits with new ones after disassembly.
We offer a wide selection of four-way valves from the reliable manufacturer ESBE.
VRB140 are used for bivalent mixing and can be motorized.
4F are mixers designed for heating systems, equipped with a PN6 flange.
Older valve series 3MG, 4MG, 3G, and 4G have been replaced by the newer series VRG 130 and VRG 140. Older valves are made of cast iron or brass. Cast iron is used in series 3G, 4G, 3F, and 4F, while brass is used in 3MG, 4MG, 5MG.
If you do not want to remove the older valve, there is a full range of renovation kits. We are also able to motorize older valves. Renovation kits include the valve core, sealing rings, replacement scale, and control wheel.
